Indoor Classes are cancelled for the summer.  Check back early fall for Indoor Pilates Mat Classes.  We are meeting outdoors at the Ballard Locks through summer for a hybrid Pilates Mat Class and Circuit Training Class.  For More Information, Contact Sue.

Pilates is a series of exercises that was created by Joseph Pilates over 80 years ago.

The Pilates method of exercises develops a strong core, improves flexibility and overall strength, balance, and helps people really connect their bodies and their minds through movement.Bird Dog 2

Pilates leaves you feeling like you worked hard, focused on your body, but not drained after a workout. It is great!

You will walk taller, sit taller, and have people ask you “what do you do to have such nice posture?”

Pilates mat classes are a great way to participate in Pilates without the Pilates machines.

Since not much equipment is needed, it is very versatile, and can be done anywhere, including at home.  Without the machines to guide you, you actually work really hard to maintain proper alignment and engage your core.

A little bit about the classes:

SuePilates3Sue’s classes are personal, small to medium sized, and always interesting!

What her clients love about her classes is that no two classes are identical.

Within the Pilates structure, there is plenty of room for creativity.

The beauty of taking  Sue’s classes is in the sense of community that she creates in her classes.

You will feel welcomed and part of the group, no matter what your Pilates experience is!

With Sue’s  background in both Pilates and personal training, she understands the importance of adding upper body strengthening as much as possible, to a Pilates mat routine.
Adding Pilates to your fitness program is a wonderful way to strengthen your core, add some flexibility, and improve your posture.

By incorporating upper body strengthening through the use of bands, weighted balls, squats,  and Pilates pushups (yes!), you also add strength to your bones and an even more functional workout that translates to your daily life.

You might even feel more confident wearing that sleeveless dress whenever the mood strikes you!

We can accommodate all fitness levels…prior experience with Pilates or strength training is not required.

We would love to have you join our supportive  group of people who really care about their bodies!
